What Affects the Cost of a Glass Balustrade?

Several factors influence the final price of a glass balustrade installation:

• Run length and height — longer or taller runs require more glass panels and fixings
• Glass specification — toughened vs laminated, glass thickness, and any special treatments such as frosting or tinting
• System type — frameless channel and spigot systems cost more than framed or semi-frameless post systems
• Fixing surface — fixings into masonry or timber are straightforward; porcelain, granite, or composite surfaces require diamond drilling at additional cost
• Internal vs external — external installations require weatherproof-rated components and in some cases higher-spec laminated glass
• Access and complexity — height of work, restricted access, and L- or U-shaped configurations
