When a Wall Would Block the Light and a Door Isn't Enough

Glass partitions solve a specific problem: you need spatial separation without losing the light. A solid stud wall creates two separate rooms — acoustic separation, visual separation, the whole thing. A glass partition creates defined zones while keeping natural light moving through the building. That's the design brief behind most of the glass partition projects we work on, whether it's an open-plan office that needs meeting rooms, a home that needs a study that doesn't feel cut off, or a bathroom that needs a shower screen without an enclosure.

The right system depends on how much privacy you need, what acoustic performance matters, and whether the partition needs to be permanent or reconfigurable. Frameless structural systems are the cleanest look but the least flexible. Aluminium-framed systems are more versatile, take integrated doors easily, and can be demounted. Frameless Structural Glass Partitions

The most minimal and contemporary glass partition option. Thick toughened glass panels are installed with near-invisible fixings — no aluminium frame around the perimeter, just seamless glass from floor to ceiling. The result is a completely open, unobstructed view between spaces, with maximum light transmission and a high-end premium finish.

Aluminium Framed Glass Partitions

A slimline aluminium frame around the glass panel perimeter provides structure, ease of installation, and acoustic performance. The frame profile can be powder coated to any RAL colour — matching existing joinery, flooring, or interior colour schemes. This is the most versatile and widely used glass partition system, suitable for almost any application.

Bathroom & Shower Glass Screens

Bespoke glass screens for bathrooms, en-suites, and wet rooms. A frameless or minimally framed glass shower screen creates a clean, uncluttered bathroom aesthetic that is far easier to maintain than a shower enclosure with tracks and seals. Toughened safety glass with anti-limescale coating options available.

Glass Options

Clear Toughened Glass

The most common option. Maximum transparency — no colour tint. Used in most frameless and framed partition systems.

Frosted & Satin Glass

Acid-etched or sandblasted to create a uniform frosted finish. Allows light to pass through while obscuring the view — ideal for privacy-sensitive areas.

Tinted Glass

Available in grey, bronze, or blue tint. Reduces glare and solar gain while adding a subtle colour tone — popular in offices and south-facing spaces.

Manifestation Film

Required by Building Regulations for glass walls and large panes in certain applications. We supply and fit frosted manifestation film to logos, bands, or patterns.

Frequently Asked Questions

Internal glass partitions in residential properties are unlikely to require planning permission, though they may require Building Regulations approval depending on the extent of works. We recommend checking with your local authority. Commercial partitions may require approval — we can advise.
Aluminium-framed demountable systems can be reconfigured or relocated. Frameless structural glass partitions are more permanent. We will advise on the most suitable system for your flexibility requirements at the time of quotation.
Single-glazed glass partitions offer reasonable acoustic separation. Double-glazed systems with an air or argon gap offer significantly improved acoustic performance. We will recommend the right specification for your use case — an open-plan office has different requirements to a meeting room or boardroom.
Yes. Frameless glass swing doors, sliding glass doors, and folding glass door systems can all be integrated into partition installations. Handles, hinges, and locking mechanisms are available in a range of finishes.
