Glass Privacy Screens
Satin sandblasted and decorative glass privacy screens — frameless and framed options for gardens, balconies, bathrooms, and commercial spaces. Supply and installation across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.
Glass That Blocks the View Without Blocking the Light
Privacy screens are one of those details that most people only consider after something already feels exposed — a garden that looks into a neighbour's window, a bathroom where the frosted film on the shower screen has peeled, a Juliet balcony where the bedroom is on full view from the street. Glass privacy screens solve all of these problems while maintaining the openness and light transmission that full glass panels are chosen for in the first place.
We offer two main privacy glass specifications — satin sandblasted toughened glass treated with Ritec ClearShield coating, and laminated glass with a milk white EVA interlayer — in both frameless and framed configurations. Both options can be integrated directly into an existing glass balustrade installation or supplied and fitted as standalone privacy panels alongside a glass balcony or Juliet system.
Satin Sandblasted Glass with Ritec Coating
Sandblasted glass is acid-etched or mechanically blasted to create a smooth, satin surface that diffuses light while obscuring the view beyond. The result is a soft, frosted appearance that lets daylight pass freely without allowing clear sightlines.
All our satin sandblasted glass is manufactured from 10mm toughened safety glass — strong, thermally stable, and compliant with BS EN 12150. Every panel is then treated with Ritec ClearShield Eco-System coating, which bonds to the glass surface to prevent watermarks, soap deposits, and fingerprint build-up from penetrating the sandblasted texture. Without this coating, sandblasted glass is notoriously difficult to keep clean; with it, a simple wipe is all that is needed.
- 10mm toughened safety glass
- Satin sandblasted finish — full panel or partial
- Ritec ClearShield coating — easy clean and fingerprint resistant
- Diffuses light without blocking it
- Available in full panels or banded privacy zones
Laminated Glass with Milk White EVA Interlayer
Laminated glass with a milk white EVA (ethylene-vinyl acetate) interlayer is the premium alternative to sandblasted glass for privacy applications. Rather than a surface treatment, the privacy is built into the glass itself — the EVA interlayer is bonded between two glass panels under heat and pressure, creating a solid, uniform white opacity throughout the entire thickness.
Because the opacity is structural rather than a surface finish, laminated EVA privacy glass is easier to clean than sandblasted alternatives — the outer glass surfaces remain smooth. It also provides the laminate's key safety benefit: if broken, the EVA interlayer holds the fragments together. Available in any laminate thickness — 8.8mm, 10.8mm, 13.5mm, 17.5mm, or 21.5mm — depending on the structural requirements of the installation.
- Milk white EVA interlayer bonded between glass plies
- Available in any laminate thickness
- Smooth external surfaces — easy to clean
- Structural safety glass — holds together if broken
- Consistent, uniform white opacity throughout
Frameless and Framed Privacy Screens
Both glass specifications above are available in frameless and framed configurations — the right choice depends on the installation setting, the load the screen needs to bear, and your aesthetic preference.
Frameless Privacy Screens
Glass is fixed using a floor channel (same system as our frameless balustrades) or standoff button fixings anchored directly into a wall or post. No visible aluminium frame around the panel — just glass. Ideal for garden privacy screens, balcony side panels, and bathroom dividers where a clean, minimal aesthetic is the priority.
Framed Privacy Screens
Glass panels are set within a powder-coated aluminium frame — available in any RAL colour. Framed screens are structurally self-contained, making them easier to install on surfaces where drilling into the floor or wall for a channel isn't practical. Popular for office privacy screens, commercial reception dividers, and external garden screens on soft ground.
Common Applications
Privacy screens are specified across a wide range of residential and commercial settings. Here are the most common applications we work with:
Garden & Terrace Privacy
Frameless satin screens fitted alongside an existing glass balustrade — or as standalone freestanding panels — provide screening from neighbouring gardens without the bulk of a fence or wall. Lets light in while blocking sightlines at eye level.
Balcony Side Panels
A clear glass balustrade on a raised balcony often requires a side privacy panel to prevent overlooking into adjacent rooms or seating areas. A single sandblasted or white EVA panel fitted to the return solves this neatly.
Bathroom Screens
Satin sandblasted toughened glass treated with Ritec coating is the ideal bathroom privacy screen material — it handles steam and moisture well, resists watermarks, and maintains its appearance far longer than untreated sandblasted glass.
Office & Commercial Dividers
Laminated white EVA screens are popular in commercial settings — meeting room partitions, reception dividers, or office zone separators — where a clean, professional finish is needed and ease of maintenance is important.
Integrated with Glass Balustrades
Privacy glass panels can be introduced into any section of an existing clear glass balustrade run — same channel, same system, just a different glass specification. A useful solution for Juliet balconies where the bedroom faces a road or neighbour.
Bespoke & Decorative Panels
We can also supply partial sandblasted panels — for example, a clear top section with a satin band at eye level — or custom patterns sandblasted into the glass surface. Ask us about bespoke options when you request your quote.
